Explore the California Department of Education’s K-12
Content Standards recommended assessments, inventories,
and student surveys for all subject areas. State-adopted series for core subjects are arranged by
grade level. We also have examples of standards-based
lesson plans.
Preview materials and multimedia resources that meet State
guidelines for K-8 reading and writing instruction across
the curriculum.
Ask to view videos of exemplary K-3 classroom teachers
working with their own students on learning to read
reading and writing to learn.
Review the latest and best in other teacher-support
materials: Multicultural literature (trade books, big books, and sets of
“leveled’’ readers!); second –language development kits,
posters, puppets; multimedia visual-performing arts
resources; and great math, science, & health materials.
Copy articles or ideas from various State program
advisories, framework, national documents, “how-to”
teacher guides, professional journals, current teacher
magazines, and research monographs.
We also have the latest publications/ textbooks for
candidates and graduate students enrolled in special
education, classroom management, and other methodology
coursework. Also look for announcements, materials,
program flyers--plus membership
applications/forms--for professional organizations.

CREDENTIAL CANDIDATES*

If you
are currently enrolled in Student Teaching II or Fieldwork
II,
you are
encouraged to check out a RICA Student kit for seven days
and attend a two-day RICA-preparation course prior to the
exam for which you have registered.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
It
is recommended that CSUDH candidates delay taking RICA
until the final phase of the Credential Program!
To check-out a RICA Study kit for seven days during
the six weeks prior to the exam for which you are
registered, CSUDH candidates must leave a $40 refundable
deposit and student ID#.
A
RICA-preparation course is offered through Extended
Education on two Saturdays preceding each exam,
9:00a.m.-3:30 p.m. The fee for CSUDH students if $40.
