Honors Braids
Undergraduate students who graduate cum laude, magna cum laude, or summa cum laude may purchase an "honors braid" from the University Bookstore to wear with their gown. To qualify, a candidate for graduation must meet the following criteria:
- a minimum of 36 units in residence at CSUDH;
- a cumulative GPA of at least 3.4;
- a minimum GPA for all units taken at CSUDH of 3.4.
You must meet all three criteria by the end of the fall semester prior to Commencement in order to qualify for an honors braid.
The bookstore will have an official list provided by the Admissions & Records Office of all graduates who meet these criteria. If you qualify, simply show your student ID at the bookstore, and you will be able to purchase this symbol of your outstanding academic achievement.
NOTE: Graduate students are not eligible; and the "honors in the major" distinction does not apply to the honors braid.
