1. HOW TO ENTER: Current NP student nominees must submit a one page typed written essay
on "What can I do/What have I done to increase NP Awareness?"
Applications must be submitted through the internet to ccnpregion18@yahoo.com by 11:59 p.m.
Pacific Time on Friday, December 20, 2002.

2. JUDGING CRITERIA: A judging panel made up of CANP Region 18 Board members
will judge essays based on the following criteria: (1) appropriateness to overall theme (30%);
(2) persuasiveness (30%); (3) creativity (20%); and (4) quality of writing (i.e. spelling and grammar) (20%).
Winners will be announced at the first 2003 CANP Region 18 meeting on January 14, 2002.

3. PRIZES:
First place: $500 scholarship*
Second place: $250 scholarship
Third place: Free one year paid membership to CANP Region 18.
*First Place winning essay will be published in the CANP Connection bimonthly newsletter.
4. ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be:
a. currently enrolled at an accredited, degree granting, two or four year U.S. college/university at least half time in the academic year 2002-2003.
b. a current member of CANP region 18 AND the CANP state. (Applications to the CANP state can be located at www.canpweb.org)
Applicants may have concurrent membership in other CANP regions as long as they meet the above requirements.
