Dr. Mayfield has practiced as an occupational therapist in a wide variety of settings including physical rehabilitation, hand therapy, home health and psychiatric facilities. She is also co-founder of Access Life International, a non-profit corporation that aims to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities throughout the developing world through projects, such as providing water collection and filtration systems to developing communities.
