BIO
Professor Penoliar is an Occupational Therapy Specialist in Adult Physical Disabilities for a variety of settings ranging from Home Health Care, Transitional Care Centers, Skilled Nursing Units, Community Based and Private Practice. He started his career at Keck Medical Center of USC where he was honored in 2002, by the LAPD Chief of Police, for his expertise in the provision of rehabilitation services to one of their injured officers. In 2003, he was awarded Occupational Therapist Level 3 status for achieving specialty certification in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT). He served as the Director of Occupational Therapy Services and Acute Rehabilitation Services for Good Samaritan Hospital in downtown Los Angeles from 2004-2007. Currently, he works in the Acute Rehabilitation Unit, Medical Surgical Units and Outpatient Neurological Services at both PHCMC and GAMC specializing in the treatment of clients with neurological impairments. In addition to teaching interventions, medical conditions, and case seminar courses in the adult and geriatric semesters in the MSOT Program, Professor Penoliar also coordinates the Continuing Education and Special Session courses offered by the Occupational Therapy Department through the College of Extended and International Education.
