MSN Pathway

The MSN Pathway Program, offered by the School of Nursing at California State University-Dominguez Hills, is designed for Registered Nurses (RNs) who hold a bachelor’s degree in another field. This program puts students on track to receive their MSN degree while taking the BSN course prerequisites along the way.
RNs who are interested in the Pathway Program need to attend the MSN Pathway Workshop first. You may attend the workshop either in person or by conference call using the special 1-800-#. The fee for attending the Workshop is $50.00. At the Workshop you will meet with the Pathway Coordinator, Dr. Rose Welch, and fellow potential students to discuss your career goals and develop a plan for you to attain your MSN degree. You will also learn all about the MSN Program and our unique combination of online and onsite classes.

You also need to send the Workshop fee, copies of your unofficial transcripts, and your current resume to Dr. Welch, two weeks prior to the workshop. Your unofficial transcripts will provide Dr. Welch with your educational background so she may develop a program plan to discuss with you at the Workshop. Courses that you have taken in your undergraduate program may apply to the undergraduate nursing prerequisites that are required for Pathway students. Dr. Welch will determine which undergraduate nursing courses you need after she has reviewed your transcripts and discussed your professional experience with you.

Registered Nurses who have earned a Bachelor's degree in another field may be eligible for the Pathway leading to a MSN Degree. Students must attend a MSN Pathway Workshop to obtain an individualized Program of Study consisting of select undergraduate courses to be taken prior or concurrently with graduate courses. Admission to the graduate program is on a conditional basis.

How to Begin:
1. Obtain copies of all your transcripts.
2. Attend a MSN pathway workshop. Refer to the Workshop schedule or contact 1-800-344-5484 for schedule and cost.
3. Confer with the advisor regarding the Program of Study and process for admission to the University
