LEARNING RECORDS

Message 82 of Learning Records:

i just wanted to let u know that i had a great time helping you and pat out on monday preparing for tuesday also i was reading on the site about Hirschman's Rhetoric of Reaction and why it is important to listen and understand another's point of view i think i have this down correctly.i beleive it is important because if we fail to understand or listen to where the other person is coming from we are being arrogant and selfish because we are only thing about ourselves. it is important to listen and understand where the other person is coming from. that way we can have a good perspective of the problem

Reply:

Yes, Hirschman is excoriating administration officials and representatives for shouting rhetoric instead of actually listening to all perspectives in good faith. This is one reason the law provides for the balancing of the scales between the two sides of the argument. The problem today is that most problems are many-sided not just two-sided.

Good job. I know that that was difficult when you weren't feeling well. Thanks.
