Message 6368:
(Love 1A)I noticed a pattern of the women having had multiple abortions and each time thinking it was morally or religiously wrong yet justifying it for financial or what they deemed practical reasons. I really dont know where I stand on the abortion issue, maybe somewhere in the middle. I have never been in a situation where I had to personally choose between giving birth or having an abortion. It is really sad that the women in the article feel that they have to keep this "secret". If we had a more loving world maybe women would feel safer in sharing this "secret" with family members and friends and not feel ashamed or judged. I want to comment on the financial aspect of their decisions to abort, my mother had nine children including myself; true, we have had to struggle with money, but we are very rich in love. She has created a very loving world for us where we have felt safe and nurtured. I just cant imagine my life without my brothers and sisters. I cant imagine if my mother had chosen to abort some of us due to financial hardships. I dont know if the cost of the baby could equal the cost of the regret and guilt and shame some of the women will feel for having the abortions. I dont live in their reality so I wont pretend to know how it feels.

Very well chosen and explained response. I think you've touched on some of the unstated assumptions.
