Who Do I Ask? Who Do I See?
Dr. Fumiko Hosokawa (SBS C 340) is the faculty sponsor for AKD. Applications will be available in the Sociology Office (SBS B 334).
Alpha Kappa Delta is an international sociology honor society.
The spirit of AKD is one of sharing and supporting a professional climate of learning. The national chapter will entertain requests for money to pay outside speakers to present workshops and symposia. We hope that our chapter will organize and apply for such a grant to invite a speaker.
Our local chapter can apply for monies designated to permit students to travel to professional conferences. We can also apply for monies to sponsor local competitions and workshops.
Of particular interest to students is the Call for Papers for the student competition. The prizes range from $150 to $600, and include scholarship monies for first year graduate study in sociology.
