For several years jeanne and Susan chose the direction of the Dear Habermas Site in cooperation with our students. But the academic year 2000-2001 has seen a number of changes. jeanne tried to ignore the Lionel Tate case (life sentence to the thirteen-year-old who wrestled with a young girl, killing her) simply because we were inundated with school shooting issues. But several students questioned how it had happened that we weren't analyzing the Lionel Tate case. Messages are still coming in on the Presidential election and other major social issues.
