Subject: "psychoanalysis has yet to be understood"Wow, jeanne...that is some powerful stuff.....I just tonight was listening to some of my friends discuss a subject that resonated with Dr. Koenigsberg's statement that "Perhaps I too believe (with Freud) that consciousness of unconsciousness allows for some possibility of choice." This group of friends and I have done very thorough personal inventories and have been hit over the head by the realizations of who we really are...and often not really happy about what we have seen, but have come to the understanding that the only thing that seems to be within our power is to recognize behavior and try to change it.....This seems to empower us to help others and be better human beings on an individual level. What Dr. Koenigsberg's statement speaks to for me is this kind of awareness on a grander scale. Gosh, how could we do it? Personally, all the people in this group have had awesome, albeit painful, but positive experiences that have led to being awake (at least more so) to the reality of our actions in our lives and the lives of those around us. I think his article speaks the truth, but how do we accomplish such a huge goal, how could I help? Thanks again for this site....It has kept me up once again, and I just couldn't put off writing and letting you know how it touches me....ox lisa
