(conference website: http://www.nd.edu/~krocinst/bechange02.html

The University of Notre Dame's annual Student Peace Conference will take place March 22-23. The conference is officially sponsored by the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, and is planned and directed entirely by undergraduate students. This year's title, "Be the Change" is taken from the writings of Mahatma Gandhi. We expect to host participants from all over the United States and the world. The two-day conference will feature seminars, lectures, artistic performances and exhibits, and two keynote speakers. Famed peace advocate Coleman McCarthy will open the event, and Notre Dame's own Fr. Theodore Hesburgh will close the weekend.

Are you interested in making a presentation at the conference? We welcome undergraduate and graduate students of all majors to submit proposals regarding potential presentations. If chosen, you will be given 10-15 minutes to make your presentation, and 5 minutes to answer questions and encourage discussion.

Themes include, but are not limited to: *Religion and peace
*Conflict resolution and mediation
*Changing nature of warfare
*Children and peace
*Prescriptions for peace *Ethnic conflict and border disputes
*Migration and displaced people
*Gangs and urban violence
*Women and peace
*Role of International Organizations and Non-Government Organizations
*Humanitarian relief
