"Fair use" encouraged. This esay takes a deep look at how much can hang on probablity when we depend on circumstantial evidence. When Government Intrudes gives an example of how dangerous such intrusion can be when it is undertaken recklessly, and when anyone may be required to answer for their peculiar habits, because we suspect that they might be terrorists, and because we are afraid of terrorists.Analysis of article should follow. Note things like legality of garbage searches. Government agents must be where they have a right to be. Now grocery store searches are cleaner, and yield the same information as would the garbage search. What about the government agents being where they have a right to be? Where are they?
Was the garbage circumstantial evidence?
