Discussion Questions:

  1. Does the little bit of color left still set a tone for the painting? How does it feel now?
  2. Can you still find the bee? his eyes? Does he seem to stand out as the focus of the painting now?
  3. Will you make him scary? Was he scary in the original painting? Should a bee be scary?
  4. Would colors that emphasize the gold and orange of the bee's honey change the feeling of the painting?
  5. Do you think you might ever want to use a lot of red in this painting? What about if a bee had just stung you? Would you make everything red? Or would you make the bee red? How would you use the red? How would it make the painting feel?
  6. If you remember the bee sting and are afraid of bees, might you want to paint the picture to show that behavior of the bee instead of its quiet calming bzzzzzz?
