From Soc 595: Reinterpretation of Theory
On Monday, October 7, Dang Cao, CSUDH graduate students, wrote:
War Should Never Be The Answer Of Resolution Imagine you are living in a country, and you are in constant fear of dying as the sky pours down rain. The rain is not water which gives life, but bombs of terror which take life. Imagine the image of fear for those who have experienced the sound of planes and the destruction of bombs in real life; they know the destruction, fear, and death that encompass this reign of terror. One never knows if tomorrow may come. Many families lives have been severed due to war. Much more destruction will be upon mankind, if we let our shadow of darkness take over the goodness in ourselves. Those who keep peace, will be known as "The Peace Keepers", those who use force of destruction to take away lives, will have to answer on judgment day. No matter if one is poor or rich, one should not have to die from the destruction of war. The killing of people will only lead to more killing by others. When will it end? When will the blood stop flowing? We all should be against war and destruction. There is no justification for war. No one should die because of the injustice of war.
This comment is on Dang Cao's site at Geocities. Cao is doing a good job of learning to put up his own site. There are several pictures of his visit to Vietnam, several sayings of wisdom, and a link to Dear Habermas as a "scholarly site." Geocities offers a free web site and some help in learning to set it up. Many of our students have used that opportunity to make their "Presentation of Self" to the whole Internet.
To be continued: suggestions for designing a Web Page for yourself.
