The crystallization of a technical and editorial assistance board for Dear Habermas has been a long time in coming. We are pleased to set up the first formal organizational unit this Fall.

  1. Virtual:
  2. Because we will function primarily over the Internet. Few formal meetings, but face-to-face gatherings in jeanne's office and for training sessions.

  3. Preliminary Training: Online
  4. I will set out the different tasks available and the skills involved in completing them. I will try to get some of this up this weekend. October 5, jeanne

  5. Site Training: Face-to-Face
  6. There is a computer training room available for this. I have asked for it, and will set times as you tell me which times will work for you.

  7. Credit for the Research
  8. Work on the board will count:

    1. As a project within a class. In this case, please be sure that the tasks you choose can be conceptually linked to the class in which you want credit.
    2. As individual study. It is too late this semester to add an individual study course, but I will be happy to give you credit next semester for work completed.
    3. As research team participation for presentation of professional papers.
    4. As research team participation in one of our workshops and/or town forums on love, peace, relationships, and justice.

  9. Reports of Learning (ROLS) Provide Updating on Projects
  10. Periodic reports of what research and tech assistants are learning will give you ideas on how the various projects are structured.
