One day a girl named Sarah went to a candy store with $3.00 in her pocket. She wanted a box of 12 mints. It cost $2.00. Just then her friend Lauren walked in with $3.00. She wanted a box of 12 mints, too, but there was only one box left.
They argued for 15 minutes. Alll of a sudden Sarah screamed, "HOLD IT!" It was silent. She asked, "Does 6 + 6 = 12?" Lauren said "Yes."
Then I'll pay $1.00, and you'll pay $1.00. Then you take six, and I will take six. "OK" said Lauren. So they did.
The End
Elise is a talented young artist, whose work has already been exhibited. She considered going to a magnet school for Fine Arts, but then decided to follow in the academic tradition of her family. Elise's Mom has been developing the Criminal Justice Program at a Mid-Western University, and her Dad is a criminologist at another Mid-Western University, so Elise has had lots of experience thinking about justice.
Dear Habermas likes the use of dialog in the story. Makes it feel like real action is going on. And the solution is an indication that Habermas might be right. Maybe we can talk things out.
