This essay is based on the Olympic Figure Skating in 2002. Competition provides motivation and incentive. It's exciting. We enjoy it. But as Fellman reminds us, at some point the competitiveness obscures the joy of the game.

The Salt Lake Olympics provided several examples of the fine line between adversarialism and mutuality.
