Notice that it's a Women's Studies Department at the State University of New York who sent for Ruchama Marton. On Friday, September 4, 2002, Dorothy Naor of New Profile wrote:

I thought you should know: I am a presenter at the SUNY conference where Ruchama Marton is scheduled to speak and have been assured by the organizers that she has not been denied entry. What was denied were the funds to pay her and they/we are raising the money ourselves. It is good that you point out the repression and fear of her ideas. We expect to be picketed.

It is also important that people know that SUNY's Women Studies Dept. has not been intimidated and that the conference, and Marton's presentation, will go on as planned. All should come and support this conference, and send contributions. Contact clarkep@newpaltz.edu. Caryl Towner.
