The Constructive Universalism by Joaquin Torres-Garcia.
Thoughts on Universalism

Painting by Joaquin Torres-Garcia

"Joaquin Torres-Garcia: (Uruguayan 1874-1949). A pioneer of modernism, Torres-Garcia was born in Montevideo in 1874 of a Catalan father and Uruguayan mother. His family moved to Spain in 1891 and settled in Barcelona. Torres-Garcia studied at the Escuela Oficial de Bellas Artes de Barcelona (the "Llotja") and at the Academia Baixas. By the end of the decade he had become, along with Pablo Picasso and Julio Gonzalez, part of the bohemian milieu of the cafe Els Quatre Gats. In 1903 Torres-Garcia assisted Antoni Gaudi with stained-glass windows for the cathedral of Palma de Mallorca and later with the windows for the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona."
From his biography on the OAS site.

The Wearing of the Green

The Wearing of the Green Posted by TR Young on PSN.

"The economic and political history of the Irish has been lost to generations of students in America. St. Paddy's Day has been reduced to green beer and river dances...not that either is a dead loss.

"The wearing of the Green on St. Paddy's Day began as a symbol of resistance to the occupying armies of Brits who forbade the growing of the shamrock.

. . . It is a calamitous irony of history that much of the exploitation and appropriate of land that triggered five centuries of Irish rebellion are repeated in the Palestine today."
