Subject: Wislawa SzymborskaDear Jeanne,I was looking and reading articles in the current issue and I came across the biography on Wislawa Szymborska. I was so happy to read about her. The reason is that on a trip to the bookstore while I still was in high school (a few years ago) I was looking through the poetry section and her book caught my attention. I flipped through it and I just fell in love with the book! I think she is a wonderful writer. Of course, I read the translation to English since she writes in Polish. I'm going to go home and look for that book. I remember a poem about love at first sight. In her poem she says that we think we have never met the person, but we might have walked by them at any point in our life. On the other side of the phone on a wrong number call, or on the street. I think I will go out and look for her work.

Minerva, I am so glad you made the connection. I have known her work for a couple of years, but I did not know or did not remember about the Nobel Prize. As I visited that site to put up the information on the Economics Prize, I was delighted to find her work on the Nobel Website. I'm sure I have one of her books somewhere, but, like you, I will have to hunt for it.May our network continue to grow. love and peace, jeanne
