for Us to Dialog about Your Learning
Based on First Week Fall Rosters, dated August 21, 2003:

  1. Adams, Crystal October 16, 2003. Thank you, Crystal, for helping out students who needed to get used to our system of reporting learning. Either you or they should let me know their names so I can give them credit for their work. Thanks again, jeanne.

Great idea to build on our discussions that way, and thanks for coming by to let me know. I was also really pleased to learn how much you liked doing it. Adults have been kidding themselves for years that only kids like to draw. jeanne

  48. Starnes, Tammy

  49. Sweet, Noelle

September 1, 2003: The Gift of Christmas. I couldn't place you at all until I remembered that. That means that you increased my ability to remember you, to pull your name out of all the things that happened on Wednesday, by what you said in class. Christmas acted like a paper clip that you pull up and it brings other things with it, like Noelle Sweet. The technical term for the theory about how this works with our memory is Herbart's apperceptive mass. jeanne

  50. Taite, Nona

  51. Taylor, Alvin

  52. Thurman, Sarah

  53. Turner, Natashia

  54. Vega, Ginger

  55. Velasco, Angelica

  56. Vivo, Srey

September 28, 2003 Srey, thank you for coming by my office. Now reinforce that by talking to me more often. jeanne

  57. Walker, Robert

September 28, 2003 Try to come a little earlier, Robert. I like to have the second part of class for discussions and you're missing the lecture. jeanne

  58. Williams, Kim

  59. Wilson, Toni

September 28, 2003 Still having trouble figuring out what's wrong with the e-mail. Will try to get it fixed tomorrow. jeanne

  60. Wishom, Coretta

September 1, 2003: Happy Birthday, Coretta, like Coretta King. May the marigold enliven your days. Notice that your connection of Coretta to Coretta King, worked like a paper clip in my apperceptive mass, to help me recall you and your marigold and your birthday. jeanne
