Jeanne, I must say that when we were in class on last Thursday, I was really thrown for a loop after carefully listening to the topic that was being discussed regarding the "naked truth" logo.

But, I must admit that at first, I did not understand why everyone was making such a huge mountain out of this issue. Nevertheless, once clarity did enter the subconcious mind, I then begin sharing the same hurt that you and the other women in the class were feeling. I found myself expressing a huge amount of emotion on the down side as well as becoming devastated until even my chest begin to tighten. So that tells you that I really took this matter to heart. Unfortunately, I have to be very sensitive as to how I express my feelings in regards to the naked truth's logo, because I would not want to offend anyone (the politicial science students' club), so respecting their intelligence and their sensitivity to our feelings, I will limit my expression of discomfort so that no one be offended by my intent of making a point to the president of the political science club and her officials.

Nevertheless, the term "consideration" for others should be taken into account when conducting any type of business whether it be family, work environment, or any type of agency; especially politics. Because the way people feel about any issue does matter. For example censorship, how can one person or several people be comfortable in an environment when there is dirty activity being exhibited in the area where they may work or live; especially if these people are offended by what is being displayed such as the naked truth logo. The old saying is that a picture is worth a thousand words, and not everyone is reading the same information. So, in my opinion the naked truth logo should not be posted on the CSUDH campus, because it symbolizes prostitution, nudy bars, disrepect as if all women are representing this logo. And, it also expresses a form of women being less than......But, I am sure that this matter was an issue once before and monologic nonanswerability was being exhibited then, and non-answerability will continue to manifest itself regarding this issue, if we women do not continue to fight for dialodgic answerability with the intent to resolve the exposure of women as though we are but a piece of flesh. And, also bannining filthy uncensored mudflaps.

Very good discussion, Malinda. I like the way you are using nonanswerability and dialogic answerability. However, I think we have more to discuss on this, especially the effects of censorship. Do we want to censor such usage? Or do we want to encourage answerability such that serious dialog between serious people can bring the issue of disrespect of the Other to greater awareness so that others will not feel that it is socially acceptable to insult and disrespect any Other?

love and peace, jeanne
