Spring 2004 Naked Space Exhibit

There will be several opportunities to participate in the Spring 2004 Naked Space Exhibit. Some of the social issues that I envision us addressing with such soiciological, political, and philosophical concepts as answerability, illocutionary discourse, transparency, accountability, responsibility, and ethical commitment are:

Project Issues

• The Naked Lady syndrome
• Answerability as an essential component of education
• Politicizing issues of answerability
• Safety nets: both corporate and those for individuals who have fallen between the cracks
• Agencies and their roles: both privatized and public
• Criminal justice and answerability
• Social justice and answerability
• The relationship between criminal and social justice
• Issues of privatization and commodification
• And so on . . .

  Roles to be filled in the exhibit process:

• Research and preparation for projects to be in the exhibit. Strong visual and/or audio component works best.
• Someone to maintain listserv to be sure that everyone knows what everyone else is working on for coordination of exhibit and catalog.
• Several students who are willing to present the projects to visitors at the exhibit.
• Students willing to help with catalog when jeanne and Pat return in February.
• Students to help with flyers for invitations.
• Students to help write the report of the exhibit for professional presentation.
• Students to help with setup and breakdown.
