  3. Evidence of Learning: Grading Without Structural Violence

    • Evidence of Learning Fairly detailed explanation of what we expect for an A grade in the course. Throughout the semester we will add examples, so be sure to look for such samples.

  4. One Plausible Schedule for Study
    These are sometimes called assignments. But, in fact, you have considerable choice. Read the Evidence of Learning file carefully. That should guide you. There are no rigid, inflexible rules, because such structure invariably causes harm at least in the form of failing to listen in good faith to those over whom it purports to exert authority. We call that "structural violence," in which harm is caused by adhering to the rules, to the neglect of the unique lives governed by those rules.
