[that "suicide" bombing was counter productive]br> I remember that Said "understands" suicide bombers and that he threw a rock across the Lebanese border at Israeli soldiers, but I'd like to see a cite about his endorsement of non-violent civil disobedience, because I don't recall it. Thanks.---Dan
To: CyberBrookDear Dan,
That is a good question. I saw Said's remarks in an email post that came to me last week. In it, he said the PLO and the PNA had done a poor job of creating a winning strategy for creating a viable, independent Palestinian state with East Jerusulem as its capital. He specifically said the suicide bombings were counter-productive and that the Palestinian liberation movement should study and apply mass nonviolent tactics to move things forward. Now, can I find the email? Unfortunately, no. I must have deleted it after I read it. I'm sorry. I think it would have interested many people on this list.
Best,
