my angel, my fire

by Robin Davies, Love 1A, CSUDH
Copyright: February 2000

afford me your time i'll come to thee
and give thou truest fruits of piety
freedom to breathe and to express what it is
your innermost has always strived to declare:
to continue this quest this journey over seas
'cross ages of man, his mind and into his time
waterfalls pour out of artful streams
i declare it is me whose tenderness fits
in making the room to unfurl those dreams
from out of the core where your apple heart sits

thou has in this life all readied heavenly gifts

in which animals smile and nature breathes calm
cherry trees blossom and lilacs perfume
coloured winds blow where rainbows have swarm'd
cats play in the meadows and daintily roam
proclaiming duty in life need be not quite like home
dont implore to forgive and beseech to forget
this that hath passed can be crushed to the bone
to restore what is real and devoid of regret

so come, love, to me
