Carnival Harlot

by Rebecca MacLaughlin, UWP
Copyright: Rebecca macLughlin, April 2001
Colloquial candy covers her eyelids,
heavy with caramel dew.
Hair-spun halo cotton candy
and carnival rings on fingers of two.

Roller coasters spiral her words,
and tickets fly out her nose.
Pink lemonade stains her cheeks,
and there’s chocolate between her toes!

Red lacquered licorice,
taints her gooey lips.
Little yellow poka-dot dress,
reveals her dumpling ass.

Soda pop scented perfume, covers the back of her knees.
Popcorn dangles from her nails,
and butter runs down her arms.

Clowns jingle from her ears,
and sprinkle glitter onto her shoulders.
Swirls and twirls go round and round
neon twists ’round her wrists.

Carousel horses turn their heads,
and wink as she skips by.
Magic mirrors lick her tummy,
and there’s bubblegum on her tits. All this for a buck with a free ride!

Hello! Thought I'd share one of the poems I just finished for a different class with you three! lol Gale, I think you'll like this one more! ;) Jeanne, it's not a painting, but maybe you can forgive that. (Am I really sending this to you three? LOL) mac

Hello back! I will need to get our Director and do a video for this one. It's a kaleidoscope of images. Maybe in the summer we'll have time. Meanwhile I couldn't resist the effort. (Am I really doing this? With students I've never yet met? LOL) jeanne
