Unruly Women: ALL

. . .
"A former Crown prosecutor in New Brunswick was sentenced to five years in prison for sexualaly assaulting six women, in a six-month period, whose sexual assault cases he was handling as the prosecutor. He confessed to assaulting them by forcing them to 're-enact their sexual assaults" because, as he explained it, he wanted to be sure of the details of the offences against them. His defences was that he was depressed at the time. (emphasis added) In his ruling, the judge accepted this mitigating defence and the guilty lawyer will be eligible for parole in two years. (Faith, at p. 7)"
hierarchical male reason
can lead to strange results
I have to do the crime
to get the crime
because you're crazy
and hysterical
so I'm here to help you
in the male sphere of life

. . .

"that the structure of society may present men with more oppoortunity and predisposition to become criminal and women with more opportunity and predisposition to become mentally ill is not fundamentally disputed here. What is disputed is that these opportunities and predispositions are inherent in the nature of men and women." (Faith, at p.71.)

I hit
you cry
I'm the criminal
you're the loony
I do what they let me do
and you do, too
even in prison

. . .

Short termers are usually the ones who get into fights . . . . In fact most of the trouble-makers and segregation occupants are the prisoners doing short time. the warden will tell you that the lifers are the most agreeable, stable and well-behaved group in the prison. (Walford, 1987: 15,, 98) in Faith, at p.231.

Are you confused? Me, too!
Who's crazy?
Who's violent?
You mean I'm not a wholly independent individual,
apart from the social structure?

Is that why it looks like a trainwreck
when we answer
in a call of and this and that and the other
are all important to
who we are?

Yep! We're whackos or criminals. ALL!
