jeanne edits Petra's work:
"I love my students
you come tired, harried
with a million things on your mind."You listen, dutifully
AND hear part of what I say
You know there are lots fo you
AND you know I'm tired
so you leave me alone
and cope as well as you can"First, THANK YOU
if you pestered me
as much as you really need to
the site could never have grown."But now's the time to self-reflect
together
as our work joins others in hypertext."Petra is a good student
As is her son
who comes with her sometimes
AND helps her"So she answered my questions
on sleep deprivation.
Reasonable, rationale, but not visual
Not a voice of her own
I'd like to hear."She's playful
She's got it
I can tell by the fun
with which she ends her email:ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz
OK, pretty visual
but caught in a homework bind
most of us have come to avoid."Let's rephrase it visually
A LESSON IN SCHOOL."
so we can share it with others
AND they'll get it
without it's becoming. . .
. . .Petra's Version:
Sleep Deprivation:
- Why do you suppose they came up with the new term: sleep restriction?
I think they changed it because the word they used before sounded as if it had a negative effect or connotation and thus erased any blame the word can place on anyone.
- What's wrong with the linear approach to time deprivation: "I have to get this to school by 3pm. tomorrow, so I won't sleep tonight."?
It doesn't show how the person will make up the sleep if they do their homework or how they think the sleep will affect them let's say if they have to drive to school.
- How did you score on the sleep quizzes?
I scored about 80% percent . zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz good night.Sincerely,
Petra Ruiz
