This site is maintained interactively with the academic community it serves. Students and others who use the site share in that maintenance by sharing editing responsibility with the site faculty.
One of the primary responsibilities in which most of our students share is the constant reporting of glitches in link connections, outdated links, spelling and punctuation errors that have slipped past our regular editors. Some of our students have begun to learn html to aid in this kind of site proofing before the files are uploaded.
Although proof reading seems a menial technical task, it is terribly important to the ease of use of the site. Random small errors tend to distract from our concentration, when we are already in the process of adjusting to the use of screens instead of hardcopy. Site proofing is always a major task on law reviews and any serious journals. It is so easy to read the copy and simply glide right over the error. All of those who participate in site proofing make Dear Habermas more accessible to all of us.
Without the effort of all those involved in this proofing effort Dear Habermas could not maintain the standards of publication we set for it.
