Blue Triangle of Solidarity
This page is based on the Refuse and Resist Site of La Resistencia. Although we didn't have the information in time to wear our blue triangles on the Day of Solidarity, we copied material here that will permit you to print and wear a blue triangle in support. I think it's a nice global touch that La Resistencia took the lead on this. Peace grows nearer with each small action.Stop the Attacks on Our Arab and Muslim Brothers and Sisters!
"In the wake of September 11 th , over 1100 people, mainly Arabs and Muslims, have been rounded up by the FBI and INS. They are kept in detention, many on the basis of secret evidence or no evidence at all and without any contact with a lawyer. The government has refused to reveal the identities, nationalities and whereabouts of the detained people. They have been “disappeared.” On December 11 th Attorney General Ashcroft ordered 5000 more to be interviewed. On the 12 th at least 9 men and women were arrested in San Diego – foreign students from the Middle East questioned about their visas."
Wear the Blue Triangle
"Immigrants, gypsies and so-called “stateless” people under Nazi rule were forced to identify themselves by wearing blue triangles. They were also rounded up and sent to concentration camps and killed. We are wearing the blue triangle – joining with the organization, La Resistencia – to show that we stand shoulder to shoulder with our immigrant brothers and sisters, be they from Afghanistan, Palestine, Pakistan, Mexico, the Philippines or any other part of the world. We refuse to go along with the police state measures being carried out today."
It Stands for Resistance!
“First they came for the Communists
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, but by that time,
No one was left to speak up.”
