On How to Use the Dear Habermas Site

This file offers step by step help in using the Dear Habermas Site. If you have any difficulty with understanding this process, please come by our office (SBS B 336) in the first few weeks for help. jeanne

  1. Access the Dear Habermas site.

    It is a requirement for the course that you know how to access and use the course site. Computer lab machines are available if you do not have other access to the site. The URL for the site is http://www.csudh.edu/dearhabermas

  2. Locate jeanne's e-mail address on the site.

      You'll find jeanne's e-mail address on the far right hand side of the screen as you scroll down. It's right next to the e-mail icon.

    • Using the e-mail icon.

      If you are using a real computer that has ears and purrs, you may link on the e-mail icon.

    • Using the school e-mail.

      If you are using a computer lab at CSUDH, you will need to ask a lab attendant to help you access the program for e-mail at school. To do this, you MUST have an e-mail address. If you do not have one, go to the Computer Center at SMC I - 120 or call x3702. The Computer Center will provide you with an e-mail address, FREE of charge.

      ___ Self-Report: Check this off once you have sent your first e-mail to jeanne.

      Self-Report: Enter your e-mail address here. If you use more than one e-mail address, we need to know that. Enter each one you use. You may add or delete addresses at any time during the semester. But we need to be able to reach you, or you may not receive important notices.

    • Find jeanne's office. (SBS B 336)

    • Download and print the grade form.

      To do this go to the Dear Habermas Homepage. Link to jeanne's classes, just under the title of the Journal. This link will take you to the Discourse preparations for the week. New materials for all classes go up here each week. We call this the "Birdie" page, for the little bird in the top right hand corner will always link you back to the "Birdie" index, from which you can choose the week you are looking for.

      Scroll down about a quarter of the file until you see Grade Form for Measures You Want to Use. Link to that. Print that form.
