Statistics Class Pass? or Prepared?
The View Messages Technique

  1. Access the Writer's Block.

  2. How does the "View Messages" option serve as a model? How could you use it to teach a child to tell a story?

Consider each message as a model. The models are on various levels. Some very simplistic. Some much more complex.

  3. Is there a "right" or "wrong" for these models?

Not really. Each model represents that child's level of sophistication about movie stories. Story telling as a skill is important, for it is a measure of articulation of abstract ideas. Because it involves the abstract, the child's age and maturation will affect the sophistication of the story.

  4. Is there a "View Message" parallel in our statistics course?

Yes. Jeanne's posting of sample answers, of explications of why certain answers were the preferred choices, and of "how to" messages are examples of the "View Message" concept. For example, Look at the file on How to Interactively Prepare a Report of Learning. Pretty complicated messages to view, but the same principle, modelling, applies.
