Studying for and Taking Tests in Spring 2001

The Essay Exam

You may elect to have this count for up to 40% of your grade.

We decided on Thursday, March 22, that your comments were so well thought out, that the test might be more useful to others if each of you (individual or working group) chose the discussion question that most interested you, instead of having to pick from five questions I might offer. During the first week of April, you will have time to choose your topic and write your first brief explanation to me. I will then suggest theory, let others know what you are working on, so that you can choose working groups across classes. The essays will then go on the site.

This procedure will enable us to use the site effectively. You will e-mail your discussion notes. And you may choose from all the discussion questions we have considered. You will be required to link your discussion conceptually to topics covered in your class. But you may choose to work in groups across classes.

The Multiple Choice and Short Answer Exam

You may elect to have this count for up to 30% of your grade.
