Product liability law suits are one of the channels that have been open to consumers to seek redress against corporations whose products have caused harm because of poor design or poor quality control in their manufacture. For a current report on the civil justice dilemma posed by product liability law suits, see Rand Institute for Civil Justice Product Liability Publications. Abstracts are available free online. We would also like you to take a look at the Institute's Executive Summary of Rand Report on Mass Tort Suits Compare p. 9's statement in the margin: "The purposes of damage class actions are sharply contested.
