This essay is based on the problems encountered in the Twenty-First Century when colonizers whose families have been settled on land for hundreds of years must confront the issue that those original settlers displaced indigenous peoples by acts of violence and war. Now, as we try to mend global allegiance and figure out what it means to be a citizen of the world, indigenous groups seek redress.
