PARKING

PERMITS

Parking Permits are available for purchase at the University Cashier's Office.  Permits are also sold during the registration process.  One-day ("Daily") parking permits can be purchased from the various dispensing machines located at/near the university's parking lots.

DISPLAY OF PERMITS

Parking decals should be affixed to the vehicle's front windshield (interior) in the left corner in such a location as to not cover the vehicle's VIN plate or create a driving hazard.  Be sure that the glass is clean prior to applying the decal.  If you should change vehicles the parking permit is removable and can be placed on your other vehicle.

Daily parking permits will be placed on the top of the dashboard, on the left (driver's side) face up, displaying the date/time stamp.  These permits are only valid for the date indicated on the permit.  (Be sure to discard old, expired daily parking permits.)

Motorcycles will display the parking permit on the right front fork of the vehicle.

ON-CAMPUS RESIDENTS

The applicable campus parking permit and a resident "R" decal must be affixed together in the approved location of any vehicle parked in Lot 5/5A (Housing parking lots).  Over-flow parking is available in Lot 1 overnight with the applicable parking permit and resident "R" decal displayed together.

SERVICE/LOADING PERMITS

Service technicians and contractors must display a campus parking permit and park in the applicable area.  These permits can be picked up at the University Parking Department (SCC B145) or the Information Booth (Kiosk).

DISABLED PARKING

Disabled parking stalls are marked with blue striping, curbing and are posted with a distinctive sign.  No vehicles shall park in these stalls without a valid campus parking permit and a disabled placard from the DMV.

VISITOR PARKING

Free 30 minute visitor parking is provided in the "green" visitor areas.  No permit is required to utilize these stalls.  Should a person's stay exceed 30 minutes due to delays in processing or other state business, verbal authorization for overtime parking may be obtained by contacting the University Parking Department or University Police Department prior to the expiration of the 30 minute limit.

Special visitors to the campus, such as guest lecturers, unpaid volunteers and other invited guests can receive free courtesy parking permits.  the University unit responsible must notify the University Parking Department Office at least 72 hours in advance of a guest's arrival via office memorandum.

"100 AREA" PERMITS

Special permits for reserved parking are issued for the president, vice presidents, and Chancellor's Office staff.  Vehicles utilizing these permits park in the "100 Area" stall.

LOST/STOLEN PERMITS

Those reporting lost/stolen parking permits on campus, should file a police report with the University Police.  Off-campus thefts are reported to the law enforcement agency for that area.  Those losing their permits and desiring a replacement must come to the University Police and complete a Lost Permit Affidavit.  After verification of the permit's serial number, the completed form will be hand-carried to the Cashier's Office for replacement.  The handling charge is $10 for a replacement permit.

REFUNDS

A "Request for Refund" form is available at the Cashier's Office for parking fee refund.  refunds are issued on a "pro-rated" basis less a processing fee.  Parking permits must be surrendered to the Cashier's Office to complete the processing.  No refunds are issued after a certain date.  Consult the semester's Class Schedule for the exact date.
