Patrol
The CSU Dominguez Hills Police Patrol Division is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and consists of patrol while in a marked black and white police vehicle, on foot, on marked police bicycles and patrol while on a marked police motorcycle.
All officers are vested with full police powers pursuant to California Penal code section 830.2(c) and are certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.). This is the same basic training as the city and county peace officers.
The CSU Dominguez Hills police officers have peace officer authority anywhere in the State of California, however the primary jurisdiction of the CSU Dominguez Hills Police Department is the University Campus and one mile surrounding the campus as indicated in the California Education Code section 89560.
Patrol officers respond to all calls for service from the campus community. These calls may include; disturbances, crime reports, suspicious persons/vehicles, traffic collisions, emergency medical calls, etc.
The CSU Dominguez Hills Police Department handles all patrol, investigation, crime prevention education and related law enforcement duties for the campus community.
