Course Descriptions
Jazz in the Modern Era (IDS 336) (3 units)
A weekly journey through the history of jazz featuring
the sounds, images and performances of the art form. Examination
of the contribution of jazz to the American cultural experience.
Viewers are encouraged to call in to speak with in-studio
guests and discuss their favorite selections or artists.
Gardens of California (IDS 350) (3 units)
This course is produced in association with the Los Angeles
County Arboretum and Botanical Garden (http://arboretum.org). An examination of the relationship between environment and
the flora that surrounds us. Viewers are encouraged to call
in to participate in demonstrations of gardening techniques
or to speak with in-studio guests who specialize in horticulture.
