1. Who will I be certified through?
After successfully passing the requirements of the 6-week course you will be "nationally" certified through (W.I.T.S.) the World Instructor Training School.  We are in 39 states, so moving will not be an issue. Our web site is
2. Is there a test given or is this a prep class?
There is a 2-part exam given on the final week of the course.  The fee is included in the course tuition and this test will qualify you as a Certified Personal Trainer.
3. Has W.I.T.S. been reviewed and or approved through any higher learning institutions?
Yes, we are approved and recognized by many organizations like the American Council of Education for college credits, the American Occupational Therapist Association, the Board of Certification for athletic trainers, National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and the Veterans Education & Training Administration.  Acronyms - {ACE, AOTA, BOC, NCBTMB, IACET, NBFE}

4. Is a textbook required?
Yes, we require a fantastic resource called the Fitness Professionals Handbook 5th edition $79.97.  The book should be ordered in advance from the W.I.T.S. toll free number 888-330-9487 or the online store at www.witseducation.comor Human Kinetics the publisher.  Please suggest they get started reading ASAP.

5. When is the CPR/AED card and internship due?
The CPR / AED can be completed anytime before, during or after the certification course.  The internship can be completed AFTER successfully passing the written and the practical skills exams.  (You are granted 12 months from the class date to complete this requirement)

6. Is the internship provided?
We send our students a "courtesy" list of approved facilities to assist this task. You can find your own site and have it approved in a simple process.  It is the student’s responsibility to contact and complete the internship with the forms we provide.

7. How long is my certificate good for?
The national certification is good for 2 years.  The renewal process is needed to maintain the certification and is listed on our website to use. 

8. Is there job placement?
A majority of the students get hired directly from their internship sites, which we provide.  We do not directly assist in securing the job, but the demand is high.  Many fitness centers write us for graduates all the time.  No other group offers this kind of networking with employers.

9. Can I miss a day of class?
You are allowed to miss one class.  Anything beyond that 1 class will require you to make it up and test over the next 12 months with another course group.  There is no extra charge from W.I.T.S. 

10. What happens if I don't pass?
We offer 4 national retest dates to help you finish your goals.  We also give our students the opportunity to sit back in on the course free of charge from W.I.T.S.
