The way that you login to Windows or Exchange will determine how you change your password.  If you login like Figure 1, you are logging into the CAMPUS domain and you will follow the first set of instructions (Domain Logins).  If you login to Exchange when you start Outlook as in Figure 2, then you will follow the second set of instructions (Exchange Logins) to change your password.

Notes

The “domain” is the network that you are logging into for your e-mail.  The name of our domain is “campus” which contains all the campus wide resources for the Exchange e-mail system.  The name of the server that houses e-mail is ”dhems01” (Dominguez Hills Exchange Mail Server 01).

When you login to Windows 9x and you enter your Username, Domain and Password and then click on OK you may receive another dialog box asking for a password again.  This is a separate password for your local PC as opposed to the “domain” password.  To eliminate this second password do the following.  Click on Start, Find, Files or Folders.  In the Named text box enter *.pwl and in the Look in text box make sure that only the C: drive is selected.  Click on the Find Now button and the PWL files will appear (Figure 9).  You can click to highlight and then press the <Delete> key to remove these files.  The next time you login you will be asked for this password once again, use your current password and you will not be asked to enter this password again.
