Extended and International Education
The
purpose of the California State University, Dominguez Hills,
College of Extended and International Education is to expand
the resources of the University to better serve the communities
of which we are a part. Extended
and International Education Mission Statement
To
serve this purpose, we offer professional, academic, and lifelong
learning opportunities on our campus in Carson, California,
and via distance learning to students throughout the world,
and in Neighborhood classrooms
throughout the South Bay
Professional
coursework includes degree and certificate programs designed
to enhance your professional standing, allow you to change
careers, or enable you to enter the job market.
Academic
programs
include traditional degree and credential programs. Often
these programs are delivered via distance learning technologies.
Lifelong
Learning
courses and programs are designed to enhance your quality
of life. These include Educational
Travel, individual courses
of interest, learning
in retirement programs, lectures, and Open
University.
The
Center for Training and Development
offers customized training for organizations, including the
Employment Training Panel.
Open
University
allows students to take regular University Courses at CSU
Dominguez Hills without formal admission to the University.
The
Center for Mediated Instruction and Distance
Learning has established a national reputation as
a leader in this fast-emerging field. Forbes magazine recognized
CSUDH as one of the top 20 "Cyber-Universities"
in the nation. Courses are offered via the internet, television,
and by correspondence.
Currently,
the Division serves approximately 12,000 students per year,
with more than 27,000 enrollments in our programs in 1998.
