Let’s Go Downtown!
Walking Tours through Downtown Los Angeles

OLLI members may be unaware of the changes that downtown Los Angeles has undergone in the last fifty years even if they have lived in the area for that long. New architecture amidst modern paintings and sculptures contrast with the older city. In this class participants will be exposed to modern Los Angeles superimposed on the old. The class will consist of an orientation meeting on the CSUDH
campus in the Extended Education classroom building followed by three trips to various parts of downtown. On our travel days (classes 2, 3 & 4) we will meet at the Artesia Blue-Line station just off the 91 freeway near CSUDH and take a Metro light-rail car on a 30 minute trip to the center of L.A. where we will begin our tours. On each trip downtown we will walk two to three miles in about five hours including restroom breaks and a no-host lunch.
