Vision
The College of Extended and International Education creates
a portal to the University and its resources for an audience
that is local, regional and international.
Mission
The College of Extended and International Education strives
to extend access to University resources beyond traditional
boundaries for a broad base of constituencies. The College
fosters lifelong learning, the application of technology to
instruction, and local, regional and international partnerships.
Through customized programs, nontraditional formats and distance
learning, the College of Extended and International Education
addresses a wide spectrum of educational needs.
The College, in part a self-supporting entity, seeks to generate
resources which provide the University with the flexibility
for responding to changing social and educational needs.
Goals
The College has developed six broad goals in support of this
mission:
- To create and offer courses and programs that respond
to the needs of the community and the demands of a
constantly changing world
- To promote the positive image of the university
locally, nationally, and internationally
- To foster the development of innovative instructional
strategies and applications with improved efficiency,
flexibility and effectiveness
- To facilitate the development, implementation and
evaluation of new instructional programs and services
- To promote the University's international mission
- To create and administer fee-based courses and programs
for the University.
