| Summer Camp in Video Game Art and Design
The Program
This is a four-day workshop camp, Monday through Thursday,
July 14-17, 2008, 9:30am-4pm, including both morning and afternoon
sessions. Students should bring a lunch. Lunchtime will be
supervised. Students should also bring a Flash drive
to save final digial design projects.
Morning Session: 9:30am- 12:00pm
Video Game Design: Character Design and Introduction to Flash
Animation
Does your teenager spend hours playing video games? Does he
or she want to design a game or have that creative spark for
making a game challenging and fun to play? Then sign them
up for this introductory workshop. From the history of games
to designing characters, developing a story line to basic
motion and effects, this is an information-packed, fun-filled
workshop for aspiring game designers everywhere.
Afternoon session, 1:30pm-4pm
Computer Graphics: Illustration & Special Effects
A must for young computer graphic enthusiasts! Students learn
the step-by-step process for creating compelling digital illustrations
under the guidance of instructor Robert Dillworth, a noted
entertainment industry designer. From Alpha channels to masking
and layers, to color and special effects, students will use
acquired design skills to create compelling illustration for
logos, movie posters and CDs. Young artists will be introduced
to Abode Photoshop, the software used by leading industry
professionals.

Who Should Attend
Students age 11-17 who are interested in gaining hands-on
experience with developing graphics for videogames.
