Course Description
Change Orders in Construction Contracts
.6 CEUs
Change Order management is one of the most important
aspects of construction project management. Once the
contract is signed and work begins, changes are inevitable.
Adjustments to the contract scope, price and time
due to changes may be negotiated and executed to become
part of the contract between the owner and the contractor.
The student will learn what is a change order and
why they are necessary, contract clauses on change
orders, the typical causes of change orders, the procedures
for managing change orders, how price and time adjustments
are calculated for the change order, how changes may
lead to claims and disputes, and strategies for controlling
and managing change orders.
