Track on Software Engineering

The aim of the Software Engineering (SE) track is to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry in an effort to highlight the state-of-the-art and to present and discuss ideas and experiences to explore new directions to improving SE theories, technologies, processes, models, verification methods and CASE tools, as well as new SE development concepts and fundamental paradigms. We strongly encourage submissions of both theoretical nature and experience papers from academia and industry. Suggested areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Agent-oriented modeling and design methods
  • Agent-oriented requirements engineering
  • Case studies
  • Computer-aided software engineering
  • Formal methods for Agent-oriented software engineering
  • Maintenance issues
  • Organizational issues
  • Patterns for software design
  • Quality management
  • Requirements and Specification
  • Reuse in agent-oriented systems
  • Safety-critical software
  • Software architecture
  • Software component markets and businesses
  • Software cost estimation
  • Software documentation
  • Software engineering environment
  • Software metrics
  • Software prototyping
  • Software re-engineering
  • Software reliability
  • Software reuse and portability
  • System models
  • Verification and validation

Paper Submission

  • Submit via e-mail attachment an MS WORD copy of your manuscript to the track chair at meyadat@csudh.edu. Electronic submission in the PDF, PS or MS Word format is strongly encouraged. For instructions on electronic submissions, Click here.
  • Papers should be original and contain contributions of theoretical or experimental nature, or be unique experience reports. Interested authors should submit a 6-page summary of their original and unpublished work including 5 keywords in the IEEE format.
  • Include a separate cover letter with the paper's title, every author(s) name, address, phone and fax numbers, e-mail, and full affiliation.
  • Names of author(s) should appear only on the cover letter. Authors should not identify themselves or their institution elsewhere in the paper.
  • All correspondence will be sent to the first author unless otherwise specified.

Evaluation Process

Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and soundness. Per ITNG policy, except for invited papers, all papers will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings with an ISBN. The proceedings will be published in the IEEE digital library

Best Student Paper

The Best Student Paper will be awarded at the conference. To be eligible, the student must be the sole author of the paper, or the first author and primary contributor. (The winner of the award will present the paper in a plenary session at the conference). A cover letter to the General Chair/Track Chair must identify the paper as a candidate for this competition at the time of submission.
