No previous knowledge of French required.   During the first semester of French the focus will be on acquiring basic grammar, reading, writing and conversational skills in French so French will be the primary language used in the classroom.   At the end of French 110, you will be able to understand simple conversations and short readings, speak well enough to handle some "survival situations", and write at a basic level.  You will also begin to acquire a general knowledge of French culture.  In French 110 we will finish chapters P-4 in the textbook, Entre Amis.
