Today's French student is  learning a  language rich in history and culture and is opening a door to greater career opportunities as well!  Speaking French is a necessity to operate and communicate well in a rapidly evolving global economy.      Did you know . . . .*

	The French language is spoken on five continents. Over 200 million people in 43 countries speak French.
	France is the crossroads of Europe, the world's largest consumer market.
	In over two dozen African countries French is the language of business and trade.
	French-speaking Canada, a member of NAFTA is the United States' most important trade partner.
	The U.S. imports French aerospace engines, motor vehicle components, spacecraft equipment, telecommunications materials, electronic and industrial parts.  French companies employ 400,000 workers throughout the U.S.
	French is second language of the Internet.
	French is the world language of cuisine, fashion, architecture, theatre, arts and dance.

A knowledge of French places the world of international communication and culture at your fingertips.  Since it's one of the foremost languages of global diplomacy, relations, and scholarship, knowing French makes careers in arts management, art history, international business, international relations, teaching, and travel possible.
